What can we do?

1. Get involved!

Join the facebook group and keep checking the website for updates on Hich’s situation.

Email staffandstudents@gmail.com for more information

2. Donate to Hicham’s legal fund.

The legal fight is ongoing and it is crucial that we have the funds to fight it properly. Please try and raise money amongst your friends, and make a bank transfer of any amount to the campaign fund. So far we have received donations ranging from £2.00 to £2,000. Every donation makes a difference to the campaign.

Donations should be transferred to the legal funds account. If you think that you can help, contact Camille Herreman on 07961925788 to ask about any related information.

3. Send us a testimonial endorsing Hich

During the ongoing legal process, we need to collate as many testimonials endorsing Hicham’s character and place in the University of Nottingham, the surrounding community and the UK. This will put pressure on the Home Office to allow him to stay. If you know Hich personally, and wish to lend a hand send you testimonials to hichtestimonials@gmail.com.

4. Write to your MP and the Home Office

We must maintain political pressure on the Home Office, which can be done directly, via letters to the Home Office (and relevant ministers), or via your MP. Many MPs are supporting the case already, and it is crucial you let your own MP know about your concerns.

You can find out who your MP is, and contact them via email, here.

5. Petition

Sign this electronic petition demanding that the Home Office stop Hich’s deportation and respect his right to due process in a court of law : http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/freehich/

This is one of the mistakes that governments made when they disregard foundational human rights…

  5. I’m pretty skint, but how about a sponsored run round campus? If Hich needs funds to fight deportation? I’m old and fat like but i reckon i could scrape round three laps if you fancy.

I am appalled by what they dare do to Hich; just read a well documented article in Le Monde (Sat. june 7th) Unfortunately we DO know what deportation means in France though some of us do our best to fight such a lack of human right.
Hold on Hich, we’re with because you’re fighting for us all.
Please add my name to petition.

I am apalled and ashamed at Hicham’s treatment by the British Government. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything directly to help, but I have already taken up the matter with my MP and will be making a donation to the fighting fund.

I hope Hicham knows just how many people are thinking of him and doing their best to get him released to carry on his life and work in the UK in peace.
